General Information.

In a dark corner of an old dusty metal shop, alongside the menacing blasts of industrial age freight trains, that’s where the sound was forged…

Where the rusted steel of a bygone era meets the ancient spirits of legendary mountains, that’s where the reckoning came to be…

As a whole greater than it’s parts, a beacon arose from the valley below and brought forth a new sense of old ways and a recalibration of doctrine.

In other words…

Geezer lay down thick heavy grooves rooted in the tradition of pre-war slide guitar blues, while simultaneously breaking boundaries through sonic experimentation and improvisation.

2015 has been a year of milestones for Geezer. It all started with the worldwide release the highly acclaimed EP “Gage” on Ripple Music, followed by the release of “The Second Coming Of Heavy: Chapter One”. The first in a series of splits from Ripple Music, it combined Geezer’s heavy blues with the massive riffs of Borracho to create an instant classic.

Geezer also spent much of the year playing live, including a tour of the the American rust belt with Bison Machine. To date, Geezer has shared the stage with bands like Gozu, Wo Fat, Mos Generator, The Golden Grass, The Midnight Ghost Train and High On Fire, among others.

New material is in the works and preparations are being made for a new full length album to be released in Spring of 2016. Always moving forward and venturing into new sonic landscapes, 2016 promises to be the year that Geezer spreads their brand of heavy-psych-blues across the seas to an ever-expanding international audience.

The reviews tell the tale…

“Five tracks of heavy and hazy blues rock drift across desert sands, echoing through moonlit canyons under starry skies, a moreish Peyote for altering the minds of easy riders everywhere.”: Metal Hammer, April 2015

“Geezer’s EP is a work of genius. Stoner Rock of the highest order… Brilliant and highly recommended.” The Sludgelord

“The bass is a leviathan of low end rumble, the blues guitar forging molten riffs of iron and steel, and the drum work massive and purposeful.”: Heavy Planet

“It’s a powerful and soothing expression of nearly a hundred years of music placed upon an altar that a thousand giants built and cherished, and this one may stand the test of time in ways that will continue to define the genre for a long time to come. Yes, it’s that damn good.”: Russell Mullen @ The Ripple Effect

Always Heavy… Totally Righteous… Geezer

General Information.

“Taste it and you won’t be sorry.” (Metal Hammer)

¡PENDEJO! is a four-piece heavy rock band from the Netherlands, founded by two cousins with a history in Latin America. Digging into their latino roots, El Pastuso and Jaap ‘Monchito’ Melman started blending heavy riffage, pounding drums, right-in-your-face lyrics in urban Spanish about the weirdest stories in life, and to top it all off, a screaming trumpet.

“Check the irony that one of the best Latin American bands I’ve heard isn’t Latin American.” (Vagabundo Espiritual)

‘Cantos a la Vida’, the band’s first full length album, was released in 2010 and got stunningly positive reviews, especially in Spanish speaking countries. Their music has been described as heavy, addictive, rough and grooving, or as a Spanish critic so eloquently put it: “Heavy rock in Spanish with balls the size of Danny de Vito”.

“You really won’t believe your ears.” (Stan Novak, Aardschok)

During the following years, ¡Pendejo! played mostly in the underground scene throughout Europe and Latin America, putting on a show for anyone who is not afraid to be grabbed by the cojones and to be thrown into a spicy puddle of chile con carne.

“Smoke, alcohol, humor, sex and ah!, Rock n Roll!” (Max Metal)

The band recorded its second album ‘Atacames’ (2014) with producer Pieter Kloos in The Void Studio in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. This resulted in a daring album containing 10 songs ranging from heavy to lighthearted, and from melodramatic to outright aggressive.

“Gewinnt jeden Schwanzvergleich.” (Legacy)

In 2014-2016 the band did several tours in Europe. In October 2016 ¡PENDEJO! toured in South America again, including Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Currently the band is working on a new album, to be recorded in August this year.
“¡Pendejo! les chingará la madre.” (Renacer Electrico)

General Information.

His Masters Voice call their style of music “The Devils Blues”. Listen to their 2014 album ‘Possession’ and you will hear influences from the greats of classic HEAVY rock but with a contemporary energy and relevance.

Musically and visually the band possess an inventive and original signature style that showcases the strength of their collective song writing, yet allows their individual talents to show through. His Masters Voice put everything into their live performance. To them, their audience comes first and that audience grows in number and dedication with every show.

Reviews:

“…Full of Led Zeppelin swag, they are smooth and easy on the ears. It’s hard not to get swept up in the moment and it’s never easy to fully capture to readers how great of a show they put on. Vocalist, Jesse Sorensen has the blues running through his veins, an old soul in a young man’s body that clearly lives and breathes what he does and it shows. A tight band that sound years above their average ages…”

Muzic.net

“Vocally supreme, Lyrically superb and the music is big time kick ass. Listening to them takes you on a journey like no other, both calming, trippy, hard hitting, fast paced and edgy. A must have in your music collection…”

Rock Bandom

“… I’m sick of it (blues) sounding so generic… (His Masters Voice’s music) it’s a breath of fresh air that I think has worldwide musical value”

– Zorran Mendonsa (Producer/Engineer)

The 13th Floor’s Tove Partington had this to say…

“… Everything you ever wanted from the love child of metal and dirty blues has come true with His Masters Voice. After only five shows, they have already made it to my ‘bands you must see before you die’ list…”

NZ Musician Album Review by Stu Edwards

“While His Masters Voice has harvested a classic sound, Follow Me Down dishes up a modern flavour that could comfortably stack up next to modern icons such Black Stone Cherry or Mastodon. Bonus live track Lucid Dream is a weighty eight minute insight into what the band are all about”

NZ Musician

NZM Fresh Talent – Clovis McEvoy

“Like a smouldering volcano, His Masters Voice have heaved into Auckland’s live music scene – and with just a two-week turnaround from stepping into the studio to the release of their debut EP, it would appear the band could erupt anytime…”

Quebec’s stoner rock band, influenced by the sounds of Pentagram, Black Sabbath and Kyuss, Whitenails adds a psychedelic touch to their EP First Trip. Heavy riffs are not lacking on this business card which has received a very positive critical reception. Add a very seventies visual and you have a band that quickly gets a top spot on the scene.

General Information.

If John Lee Hooker, Kyuss and Janis Joplin had a baby, can you imagine how ugly that little alcoholic infant would be? Fortunately, South Australian quartet Kitchen Witch can hold their liquor long enough to write some booty shakin’ bluesy stoner grooves.

In 2013, Kitchen Witch formed and hit the live circuit hard. They recorded the double A-side single “Shock/Beer Swilling Baby”.

2015 saw the release of the “Trouble” EP. The 5-track blues rock release has attracted over 10,000 plays on YouTube and was featured on the attached CD of globally distributed Classic Rock UK Magazine.

In 2016, Kitchen Witch recorded the darker “Back To The Mud” EP at Studio Finetime (Hydromedusa, Woe), showing a heavier side to the group that is evident in their live shows.

Recently, Kitchen Witch have signed with Kozmik Artifactz for an exclusive vinyl release featuring selected tracks taken from both EPs.

Kitchen Witch continue to go from strength to strength with a powerful twist of blues, gospel, roots, country, punk, 70’s rock and stoner doom.

“A very unique alt. blues sound, incredibly fun.” – themusic.com.au

“Zepplin, Kyuss, The Kills, Deap Vally all huffing the one monster spliff, riffing you a sweet stoner blues lullaby.” – Spoz’s Rant

General Information.

“Mountain Dust’s set was a blast of cymbal crashing, headbanging hard rock laced with doom metal and a sensible dosage of psychedelic pretensions. The songs weren’t excuses for aimless guitar wankfests, but slithering heavy jams (the bass player laid hypnotic grooves on his Rickenbacker) that turned in on themselves like a snake eating its tail. Organ à la Deep Purple gave the music a gothic nuance, but the big surprise was lap steel guitar fed through an effects rack.

The band reinvented their blues-metal sound — a genre now as outmoded as bell-bottoms and songs about scoring with underage groupies — with well-crafted riffs that make you forget it’s all the same 4/4 rhythm you’ve heard a million times. They had masterful dynamics and pauses: the music breathed, but it breathed like Godzilla. For four thrashers who look like head shop regulars, Mountain Dust didn’t play a bum note all night.

I can say it was all appropriately face-melting, the best show I’ve seen in Montreal since the Prince afterparty at Muzique (an admittedly high bar). Imagine Zeppelin on their first American tour, pre-superstardom: that’s the impression Mountain Dust left in their wake.” – Cult MTL

General Information.

Borracho is a three piece heavy rock band from Washington, DC. In the five years since releasing their 2011 debut Splitting Sky, they have become a staple of the Mid-Atlantic — and US — stoner rock scene. 2013’s follow up Oculus highlighted a band in metamorphosis, moving the band forward sonically with a leaner lineup, but continuing their emphasis on song construction and memorable melodies. With a substantial offering in Ripple Music’s 2015 inaugural Second Coming of Heavy, Chapter One, the band showed their continued commitment to the almighty riff, and plenty of variety in their approach, even within only 22 minutes of scathing rock.

Along with their two LPs, Borracho has dropped a half-dozen limited edition vinyl singles and split 7”s to satisfy fans and collectors around the globe. The band has worked with labels from the US, Spain, Germany, and Japan to get their music to the masses, and has teamed up with similar acts Cortez, Geezer, and Eggnogg — even their own former band Adam West — on split releases. The past two years has pushed Borracho to both Europe and the west coast of the United States to preach their gospel of low and heavy grooves.

With the 2016 release of their third LP Atacama, the band is primed for a larger audience, with a totally organic and diverse collection of heavy anthems to get people up onto their feet and raising their fists in a glorious Hallelujah.

For fans of Black Mountain, Ghost, King Gizzard, Uncle Acid.

The combination of guitar, hammond organ, electric cello, bass and drums is a tip of the hat to the Mahavishnu Orchestra sound, but with six-part Queen-esque vocal harmonies and Thin Lizzy pop-rock structures.

Recognise the hallucinatory nature of reality

Investigate all aspects of the reality-hallucination

Receive all phenomena with equanimity

Celebrate and uphold the freedom of art, science and thought
