General Information.

Devil Electric combine the riffs of old and new in a collision of unholy matrimony.

Droning distortion, heart-pounding drums and rumbling bass all tied in with haunting female vocals.

This is what it sounds like when someone walks over your grave.

Born down-under during a ritualistic listening of Sabbath & The Dead Weather, Devil Electric pride themselves on their crafted song structures and hook-laden riffs. Fronted and defined by a dark and gracious female presence, they offer a modern, heavy and fuzzed-out brand of rock n’ roll.

‘Devil Electic blew my mind. A wall of sound with haunting vocals – one word, HUGE’ Tonedeaf

“The heavy chug and masculinity of the rhythms are perfectly counterbalanced by Pierina O’Brien’s Joplin-esque vocals.” Heavy Magazine

General Information.

The first rehersals were around 2008. Everything was still very embryonic. The band consisted of Space Ghost (guitar), King Lizzard (vocals), Philip (drums) and Adrian (bass).

The first show took place around 2010, already with Asteroid Mammoth in place of Felipe and Bong Monkey in place of Adriano, plus the addition of a second guitarist Gila Monster.

In 2012 came out the EP ‘Snake arms woman’ with 3 songs. Since then the band started playing in bars and concert halls, but also in neighboring towns, also participating in some festivals. In 2014, the band received the invitation from Rio de Janeiro producer of Abraxas Felipe Toscano to record full album in the studio Superfuzz with the producer Gabriel Zander, who worked with Mars Red Sky among others. In the same year, the band made concerts in RJ / SP and the festival that takes place in Belo Horizonte, the ‘Exhale the sound’. The guitarist Space Ghost got replaced by Psychodelic Monk.

In 2015 the band launched the single “Jupiter cosmonaut”, a 15-minute song and soon after released their full length “Thrones in the sky” with 5 songs in digital format. Immediately they were invited to join the cast of Abraxas Fest and played again shows in RJ and SP, together with Kadavar, plus the Monster Coyote and Munoz.

General Information.

Of The Horizon came together as a two piece in the fall of 2008. Mike Hanne (guitars, vocals) and Shig (drums, cymbals, gong) connected through an ad on craigslist, of all places. Both hailing from the “stoner/doom” school of rock an immediate and heavy bond was quickly established. By the spring of ’09 the duo had written around a dozen songs and had played about as many shows around the Long Beach/ L.A./ Hollywood area. That May, still without a bass player, the two decided to head into the studio. A four song E.P., that has yet to be released, was done with Scott Reeder (Kyuss, Goatsnake) at his studio in Banning, CA. They continued to look for that third element while melting faces around the Los Angeles region. Luckily the lack of 4 strings didn’t hinder the amount of enthusiasm and sheer energy the two were generating. Rick Kosick (Jackass producer) at one point was quoted as saying “…Of The Horizon is L.A.’s best new band.”
They continued writing and playing shows and in June of 09 found the missing link. Bill Lanham (a.k.a. Big Willy) confronted them after a show in Long Beach and in not so many words said “you guys need a bass player, and I’m it!” An accomplished musician, engineer and producer Big Willy quickly jumped on board, learned the songs, and before they knew it the three were in his studio laying down more tracks. With Bill now a part of the line-up,…Of The Horizon were playing shows around the Los Angeles region and working on a much anticipated full length album. During 2009 and most of 2010, they had the privilege of sharing the stage with such bands as Black Cobra, House of Broken Promises, Rise Of The Willing, It’s Casual, and Dave Lambardos Philm. However, in November of 2010, Lanham decided to leave the band (on great terms) and …Of The Horizon were once again on the hunt for a new bassist and missing link. Enter Kayt Vigil at a Masters of Reality /Farflung show at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown, where she was given the E.P. recorded with Scott Reeder by Shig and asked if she would be interested in joining the band.
She had just come to Los Angeles from Philadelphia, PA after having played with some heavy hitting musicians herself. Her previous experiences included time with Joe Hasselvander’s (ex-drummer of Pentagram) The Hounds of Hasselvander as a live bassist, Pentagram (as a live part of the Hound’s set with Bobby Liebling as well as studio time
with Pentagram) and her own band Hatchetface, a doom 4 piece based in Philadelphia. Within a few months of going back and forth between Philly and LA and finally settling down in CA, she had learned the songs and the band was back on stage by May of 2011. Again, they had the privilege of sharing the stage with such bands as Yob, The Shrine, Moab, and G.F.P. (with skateboard legend Tony Alva) at The Troubadour , Echoplex and other more intimate venues in Los Angeles as well as the 2011 Doom In June Fest in Las Vegas, NV with Stone Axe, Wo Fat, Iron Man(MD) and Solitude Aeturnus.
Things were on a roll but unbeknownst to the group, big changes were on the way. At the end of October 2011, the band relocated their headquarters from LA to Joshua Tree, CA , roughly 130 miles east in the California High Desert. Even though Mike and Kayt still lived in LA, their weekly commute to their desert rehearsal space and their drummer Shig (who now lived in Joshua Tree) was worth it when the jamming commenced, energetically unobstructed and free of the psychic clutter of the metropolis. There, in an inspiring atmosphere the band regrouped, began writing new material and most importantly, prepared to record their long awaited full length album. In early November of 2011, they met with experienced and knowledgeable recording engineer, Tony Mason of Back Of The Moon Studios, in Joshua Tree (a neighbor of Rancho De La Luna). He had engineered and mixed Brant Bjork’s “Jalamanta” and was Engineer and/or Assistant Engineer and played(depending on which session)on the famed Desert Sessions 1 -2 , 5-6 as well as 7-8. He worked with artists such as Josh Homme, Dave Catching, Nick Oliveri, Mario Lalli and Brant Bjork, respectively. He was the perfect engineer to pull the sound of balanced heaviness and precise riffage , swirling psychedelic effects and distinctive, slightly droning vocals out of the trio and lay it all down on 16 tracks with a 1/2 inch reel. Their last recording effort clearly reflects the feeling and freedom of the high desert vibe. Truly, the band was in their element. Of course, the life of a musician can be full of uncertainties. Just a few months later, an unfortunate turn of events began to cause issues on both practical and financial levels for the members. By March of 2012, these unfavorable matters consequently caused the group to decide to amicably disband. Even though there were a few offers from labels to release the material, the problems facing the band were too great to ignore and the recording fell to the wayside. However, the recording remained with Kayt after everything was said and done . After moving to Europe to pursue other musical endeavors, and with the full blessing of her former band mates, she had the sound re-mastered by Lorenzo Stecconi (Ufomammut’s studio engineer) and found a label willing to release the album- a label that had put an offer on the table previously when the recording was new. So, well over four years after the date of the Back Of The Moon Studios sessions, …Of The Horizon wishes to bring their last and finest effort via Germany’s Kozmik Artifactz label to the world of heavy music with a recording that offers lots of low end crunch, crushing rhythm, heavy, fuzzed out guitar and insightful vocals that transcend the everyday reality of life on this earth. Some call the music “trance inducing”, some call it “heavy as hell”, but all can agree that it is a true blend of hard rock, some heavy metal and some stoned-out doom. Welcome to the underground high desert sound!

Space God Ritual300

General Information.

From their inception Space God Ritual has always had one goal: to convey the mysteries and cosmic horror of H.P Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos.
In 2011 these bards of the strange began their journey and quickly after forming recorded their first demo: Beyond the Beyond. After a short stint of playing live shows, the members parted only to reconvene a year later and record a second demo: Pay the Price.

In 2013 R’lyeh Beckons and Eldritch Tales were released upon an unsuspecting world.

In R’lyeh Beckons, their first official album, they sent us down into the depths of the sea to witness the horror of the dreaming city and its corrupted denizens.

In Eldritch Tales, their sophomore effort, they took us on a journey through dark countries teaming with cyclopean horrors.

Presently, these scholars of the strange watch and wait; reading the ancient books and the philosophies no man was ever meant to decipher.

Who knows what horror these mad bards will weave next; when the stars are right and dark inspiration strikes!

Moon Curse 300

Spirit Remains300

General Information.

Beneath the faded light of Milwaukee’s infamous “polish moon” clock tower (a structure built for the sole intent of dominating the night sky and the view of it’s immigrant residents), three bleary eyed mystics brew stoner hymns dedicated to baphomet bongsmoke, Pontiac muscle and 70’s rock n’ rollers. following a DOOMED path, tred by true HEAVY fanatics before them, a path that will always remain for those dedicated to the riff; MOON CURSE walk with intent to play loud and proud!

Keith bangs the drums, Rochelle strums the Squier P bass, and Matt breaks Orange amplifiers and howls. One could cite Sabbath (duh!), Zeppelin, or a handful of other protometal-fuzz-stoner-whatever-rock as influnces, but you get the idea!

You know it! You love it! So…GET CURSED!

General Information.

BBirthed in the year 2010, Blackwolfgoat is here now in this world and is very real. Yes, the legends and stories of Blackwolfgoat are all true, and then some.

Guitarist Darryl Shepard, one-time member of bands such as Hackman, Roadsaw and Milligram, decided to go it alone for his latest endeavor, choosing to create loops and drones which could then be added to and layered upon to build songs out of the simplest of material.

With just one guitar and one amplifier, Shepard has crafted musical pieces which take the listener to some dark places, and some lighter ones as well.

Mexicoma John The Revelator

cover

General Information.

You’re about to witness one of the heaviest bands of the gerne. These 6 dudes (incl. 3 guitars and 1 heavenly hellish voice) from Sweden bring you an earth shattering melange of stoner rock, doom and metal. So heavy, so melodic, so unique… no need to categorize any further, just listen for yourself.

Since the beginning in 2006, Mexicoma has grown from being a clean-cut stonerband to expressing a much more ambient and heavier sound. Just as a good whiskey, Mexicoma has needed the time to age and evolve to get the right taste. The earlier flirt with the 70s and more peeled off sound, has developed into a heavier and saturnine presence, without discarding their riff-based foundations. The sound today is easiest described as heavy-hearted and transformative, but at the same time still captivating and progressive.

Mexicomas self-titled EP is far from the first recordings, still the release is stated as the first official issue. Although the band has been a part of Swedish scene in the north for several years, the time is now to reap what once was sown. Mexicoma is ready to conquer both the international scene as well as, once again, the Swedish one.

Toner Low III front

General Information.

TONER LOW got together in Spring 1998 and took their time finding a sound of their own and stripping down the initial five-piece line-up to a classic trio consisting of guitar, bass and drums that released the debut cd in 2005. Since late 2007 TONER LOW are formed by Daan (guitar, microphone), Miranda (bass) and Jack (drums). The musical and band background of the individual members goes back to the thrash metal scene of the mid-eighties. For TONER LOW bands such as Sleep, High On Fire, Electric Wizard and Acid King are the main influences.

The first and second album by TONER LOW recieved many good reviews in the world-wide doom and stoner community. This led to the band playing regularly in Germany, and doing European tours including countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Croatia and the Czech Republic. Although from the Netherlands, TONER LOW don’t play much live shows in their own country.

Over the past years TONER LOW did gigs with bands such as Electric Wizard (UK), Acid King (USA), Boris (Japan), Colour Haze (De), Conan (UK), Pombagira (UK), My Sleeping Karma (De) and Astrosoniq (NL), and played festivals such as Roadburn 2006 (NL), Swamp Room Happening 2007 (De), Stoned From The Underground 2008 (De), Doom Over Bielefeld 2009 (De), Stoned Hand Of Doom 2010 (It), Doom Over Berlin 2011 (De) and Desert Fest Berlin 2012 (De).
